Hello, I am Maria
I am a project manager. Parent. Expat living in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually unfolded into a new chapter of life abroad.
Where It All Began
Moving to Portugal wasn't planned in the long run. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — fresh systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more tangled than expected.
The Adjustment Phase
There was cultural shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually routines settled in. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Bright Meadow Arc
Most information online came from either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice rooted in real life in Portugal.
What This Site Covers (And Does Not)
This site includes:
- Hands-on experience from living in Portugal
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever a meaningful change occurs
This site does not:
- A tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review site
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Portugal continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Maria
